Abdominal Pain? Need Digestion Support/Stimulant? Here is one!

So my daughter has been suffering from GI issues since birth. The issue has continued to worsen given that she has been exclusively tube fed for the past four years. During the past years I have tried tons of meds and over the counter supplements to support her digestion, yet non worked.

A few weeks ago I made her a blend for digestion that had fennel essential oil in it. A couple days later she had a sleep study showing abnormal brain activity that sounded like epileptic type of thing. I stopped that essential oil blend as fennel should never be used for people who have epilepsy.

Ever since, I have been working on making her a new digestion-support blend and so came up with one. I started applying it on her abdomen and I can finally see a comfortable child here!


in a 10ml bottle, add:

  • 1 drop Ginger essential oil

  • 1 drop Roman Chamomile essential oil

  • 1 drop Cardamom essential oil

  • 1 drop Peppermint essential oil

  • Fill the bottle up with a carrier oil of your choice (ex: fractionated coconut oil, sunflower seed oil, etc)

Shake the bottle vigorously and your blend is ready to use


Now, you can use this as needed. Just keep an eye on your child for any reaction. Otherwise, it’s safe. It’s always best to keep 4 hrs between applications in case the pain persists, yet in this case of course consider having your child seen by his doctor.

Best way to apply is to apply a bit on your hand palm, apply on the abdomen, particularly around the belly button, and apply a gentle clockwise massage in circular motion.

The topical application of essential oils may prove to be extra beneficial because the transdermal properties of the oil permeate your skin and enter your bloodstream faster. Your olfactory nerve receptors also sense the smell and send signals to your brain.

However, before topical application, you should patch test oils on your skin by rubbing a small drop on the inside of your wrist and letting it sit for 24 hours. If there is no reaction within this time, the essential oil may be safe for you to use. Patch test essential oils every time before using them on children. We do not recommend using essential oils on babies younger than one-year-old.
